Abstract

Addressing systemic racism in higher education has never been easy. Even before the anti-DEI movement, and even when the political climate supports troubling policies and practices that are racist and promote and perpetuate racism (re: even Starbucks was all in at one point), getting white faculty, staff, and students to develop a critical perspective on the foundational and rooted nature of racism in the U.S., and then to develop a critical perspective on how they have been taught to think and to what to value—that is the work.
