Dismantling Whiteness and White Supremacy by Telling the Truth: A Critical Race Perspective

Abstract

Using a Critical Race Theory (CRT) Framework, especially the tenet that highlights the experiences that people of color bring to conversations about race and racism, I make the argument that we can have more begin to dismantle whiteness and white supremacy by telling the truth. Following McCarthy (2003), I am putting whiteness at the center of this conversation around dismantling racism and truth telling to later de-center it in conversation
