Sat, April 26, 9:50 to 11:20am MDT (9:50 to 11:20am MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Meeting Room Level, Room 201

Abstract

According to Luis Moll and colleagues, any educational and classroom transformations has to be rooted in local contexts and circumstances. In that regard, “good practices in education” or “replication” are a problematic terms in educational research. A better choice is “reinvention (…) ideas by taking into account the specifics of local settings” (Moll et al., 1990, p. 3). In that regard, in the last Moll’s works (i.e, Moll, 2019) he presented a “translocation view of funds of knowledge” what inspired the creation in 2018 of the Funds of Knowledge Alliance dedicated to transforming education through leveraging the cultural and intellectual resources inherent in diverse communities over the world.
