This autoethnographic study explores the transformative journey of traveling to Bahia, Salvador, as a means of healing, renewal, and experiencing Black joy. Drawing from personal narratives and cultural immersion, the paper delves into the rich Afro-Brazilian heritage that permeates the region. Bahia, with its vibrant traditions, music, dance, and spirituality, serves as a backdrop for a profound reconnection with ancestral roots. The study highlights how the cultural practices and communal bonds in Salvador foster a sense of belonging and empowerment. Through reflective storytelling, the paper examines the emotional and psychological impacts of this journey, emphasizing the role of travel in personal growth and cultural affirmation.
