This paper examines the historical, social and cultural role of "Soul Food" in fostering resistance among Black people. Through a detailed review, the author explores how Black individuals have resisted oppression amid systemic racism, from the enslaved Black woman on plantations to the halls of academia, using historical evidence and personal stories to illustrate this journey.
