Abstract

We draw upon works with critical methodological traditions such as Asia as method, decolonizing methodologies, endarkened storywork, and methodology of the oppressed. The trajectories of these inquiries focus on methodologies engaged by Asian diaspora educational scholars living/exploring Asian diaspora lives. Asian diaspora as methodologies fosters creative strategies that transgress colonial and imperial methodological orientations to empower silenced, marginalized, and neglected individuals and communities. In so doing, Asian diaspora as methodologies challenge imperial and colonial ways of theorizing, interpreting, and writing about Asian diasporas in education.
