Abstract

Dr. Baxley will discuss key insights and reflections from two research-practice partnership collectives she is actively involved in, both of which are dedicated to the liberation of Black youth, families, and communities. Dr. Baxley is an assistant professor at the University at Buffalo (SUNY) that researches community-engaged educational leadership that affirms the well-being, critical consciousness, and self-determination of Black youth and families. She also examines how AntiBlackness manifests and is disrupted in educational and community spaces to shape the experiences of Black communities.
