Abstract

This presentation examines innovative strategies employed by Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to support and graduate low-income Black students in STEM fields. Drawing on research conducted by a consortium of HBCU NSF S-STEM grantees, this work highlights best practices that empower students to achieve their academic and career aspirations. The presentation will explore pathways to matriculation and successful STEM careers, emphasizing the role of capacity building, technical support, and strategic alliances in broadening participation in STEM.
