Abstract

This study, titled "Exploring Web 2.0 Tools in Three Phases of Language Instruction for Engagement Facilitation," investigates the role of Web 2.0 tools in enhancing student engagement across the three phases of language instruction—opening, delivery, and closing. Using task engagement theory as a guiding framework, the study analyzes existing literature to understand how these digital tools can facilitate deeper learner engagement during each instructional phase. A systematic review methodology was employed, focusing on studies published between 2014 and 2024 that examine the use of Web 2.0 tools in English language teaching (ELT). Key data sources include peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters.
