Abstract

This descriptive study aims to explore the experiences of Black teachers in Missouri schools to understand the nationwide shortage of Black female teachers. By examining these experiences, the study seeks to inform strategies that can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for Black educators. Insights gained may help schools and districts enhance their practices to attract and retain diverse teaching staff in K-12 classrooms. Ultimately, the research aspires to promote equity within the teaching profession, benefiting all educators and students. The findings may serve as a guide for improving diversity in hiring and fostering an inclusive culture in education.
