Working Paper: Toward First Nations' Education Transformation Through Deep Ethical Listening and Storywork

Sun, April 27, 11:40am to 1:10pm MDT (11:40am to 1:10pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Mile High Ballroom 2A and 3A

Abstract

The research seeks to learn from the educational experiences and efforts of Aboriginal, Indigenous, and First Nations communities to transform education by dismantling Eurocentric models in favour of culturally responsive approaches. The core objective is to examine how First Nations peoples, both within Australia and eventually internationally, have collectively reclaimed control of educational practices, thereby fostering Indigenous-led, community-centred education systems. By weaving these stories, the aim is to propose principles that support Aboriginal-led educational reforms in Australia.
