Fri, April 25, 11:40am to 1:10pm MDT (11:40am to 1:10pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Mile High Ballroom 2A and 3A

Abstract

This study explores how working-class students perceive their interaction with their higher-class peers. A phenomenological study was conducted using content analysis and interviews. Findings suggest that working-class students felt negative feelings such as not belonging and a sense of envy. However, there were also positive gains that they became more socially aware of different social classes and financial circumstances.
