Abstract

This study aims to develop and validate a scale for trait mindfulness to assess emotion regulation skills among undergraduate students. The initial phase focused on developing the Trait Mindfulness Inventory (TMI) and its pilot testing. Our preliminary results informed item refinement to enhance clarity and measurement validity. The next phase involves testing the revised TMI across different contexts and exploring associations between TMI and students’ emotional well-being. This process aims to develop a robust instrument to advance the study of mindfulness and its role in emotion regulation, focusing on creating a measure tailored for undergraduate students who may be unfamiliar with mindfulness.
