Abstract

This study examines how post-secondary EFL learners in Indonesia engage with English literacy practices across both school and out-of-school contexts. It also explores how these practices are incorporated into classroom learning. Grounded in the framework of New Literacy Studies, the research adopts a case study approach with ethnographic data collection methods. Data sources include questionnaires, interviews, classroom observations, literacy diaries, and classroom artifacts. The study aims to understand the dynamics of EFL learners' literacy practices, particularly how their English literacy practices traverse between home and school domains, and how both lecturers and students utilize students' out-of-school literacy practices to create more meaningful learning.
