Assessment Fairness through a Lens of Translated Test Accommodations in Mathematics

Abstract

This study explores English learners’ (ELs) performance when math tests are given in their primary language, especially Spanish. The impact of translated math tests was examined across content areas and grades. The findings indicate that the Spanish test form did not provide undue advantages to ELs in every content area.
