Abstract

Career identity is a essential aspect of an individual’s life, reflecting professional values, interests, skills and goals. For high school students, having a clear career identity is particularly essential as they approach the end of their secondary education and prepare to transition into the workforce, either directly or through higher education. A well-defined career identity can make the process of transitioning less daunting. Additionally, in an increasingly dynamic and complex workforce, career identity shape perceptions of employability, career opportunities and helps navigate the workplace. Understanding factors influencing career identity among high school students is thus essential. The study aims to understand the factors that promote career identity development among high school students in the U.S.A.
