Sat, April 26, 11:40am to 1:10pm MDT (11:40am to 1:10pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Mile High Ballroom 2A and 3A

Abstract

This qualitative single case study investigates the writing experiences of second-semester college freshmen from diverse public high schools in Oklahoma. The study seeks to understand how students' high school writing experiences shape their perceptions and approaches to college-level writing. By examining these experiences, the research will uncover insights that can inform pedagogical practices and support student success in writing at both the secondary and university levels. Ultimately, the goal is to bridge the gap between high school and college writing instruction, fostering a smoother transition and empowering students to thrive as confident and capable writers.
