Wed, April 23, 12:40 to 2:10pm MDT (12:40 to 2:10pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Mile High Ballroom 2A and 3A

Abstract

Student health is essential to student success and emotional well-being. School-Based Health Centers (SBHC) offer an opportunity to provide health care to students with the greatest barriers to access. This study analyzes the benefits of a SBHC on a variety of outcomes, including absenteeism, graduation rates, suspension rates, and achievement. I utilize the National Assembly on School-Based Health Care framework to place SBHCs in the context of the wider environment of student health influences. This analysis identifies how SBHCs are related to outcomes across various student groups. I will use regression analysis and coarsened exact matching to estimate any correlations. This analysis is particularly relevant given the recent focus on policies to support mental health and academic recovery post-pandemic.
