Fri, April 25, 11:40am to 1:10pm MDT (11:40am to 1:10pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Mile High Ballroom 2A and 3A

Abstract

Dispositions, encompassing attitudes, values, and beliefs, are critical competencies for personal and professional success in higher education. This work-in-progress systematic review investigates methods for assessing dispositions, emphasizing tools, frameworks, and emerging trends while addressing gaps in standardization and inclusivity. Guided by the PRISMA framework, the review synthesizes findings from five academic databases using rigorous inclusion and exclusion criteria. Preliminary findings highlight validated tools, such as the Teacher Disposition Scale, and innovative approaches like dispositional learning analytics. Identified challenges, including biases and discipline-specific limitations, emphasize the need for holistic and adaptable methods. This research informs competency-based education models, offering actionable insights for curriculum design, policy, and fostering innovation in disposition assessment practices.
