Wed, April 23, 12:40 to 2:10pm MDT (12:40 to 2:10pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Mile High Ballroom 2A and 3A

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether successive generations to the introduction of ACEs have experienced less severe economic hardship as adults due to increased awareness of ACEs and the growing implementation of interventions aimed at mitigating the effects of childhood trauma. The analysis focuses on the survey answers of Florida responses of the 2022 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) to contextualize the findings within the state's specific demographic and socioeconomic environment. Following Harter and Harter (2022), this study will conduct three separate ordered probit analyses to investigate how Florida respondents’ remembered ACEs influence their reported levels of food, housing, and employment security.
