Sun, April 27, 11:40am to 1:10pm MDT (11:40am to 1:10pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Mile High Ballroom 2A and 3A

Abstract

Indigenous communities are tired of being used to help advance research for the sake of extraction and publication. They demand of researchers to abide by the principles of relationality in the community when working in collaboration in education and research projects, whether there is a shared cultural and historical memory. This autoethnography applies Indigenous Storywork methodology to explore two principles (respect and reciprocity) and asks: What are the relational considerations of research with Indigenous peoples for political education in Guatemala and El Salvador?
