Abstract

This study investigates the challenges of transferring Germany's vocational education and training (VET) framework to China, focusing on adapting Germany’s dual system in China's undergraduate vocational programs. The research explores cultural, educational, and political barriers to curriculum transfer using qualitative methods, reviewing institutional documents and conducting semi-structured interviews with diverse stakeholders from China's vocational universities. Preliminary findings suggest difficulties related to China's centralized education system and the rapid pace of reform. The study highlights how policy adaptations, industry collaborations, and curriculum adjustments are key to overcoming these challenges. The results will inform policymakers and educators on improving VET systems in emerging economies like China.
