Abstract

This study attempts to investigate the effect of school infrastructure on the educational status and learning levels for children in K-12 settings in Pakistan for the year 2019, after controlling for student characteristics of the child and parental education. To do so, it utilizes the raw dataset made publicly available by the Annual Status of Educational Report Pakistan - the largest citizen led household-based initiative. The study utilizes Ordinary Least Square regressions for analyzing the conditional correlation across 161 districts of Pakistan, the smallest functional unit of local governance. The study is limited to public and private schools. It does not generalize to non-profit and religious madrassas.
