Abstract

This study explored the evolution of Islamic education research through a bibliometric and social network analysis (SNA). Utilizing 1,116 documents from the Scopus database, the research examines publication trends, influential works, and collaborative networks within the field. The study mapped the geographical distribution and growth trajectory of the scholarship by identifying key contributors and influential publications. Findings revealed the interdisciplinary nature of the field which includes curriculum, policy, ethics, and more. This research emphasized the significance of international collaborations, with notable contributions from countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, and the U.S., and highlighted the evolving nature of Islamic education in response to global educational challenges.
