This study investigated the integration of an expressive STEM framework in elementary teacher education through a yearlong professional development program. By using asset-based arts and inquiry methods, the program reframed computational thinking (CT) as an expressive literacy, prompting critical thinking and empowering inclusive, culturally relevant learning environments. Findings highlighted the role of arts and inquiry in advancing social justice and equity in STEM education, shifting traditional teacher-centered instruction to community-centered practices. This aligns with TACTL SIG’s mission to promote educational innovation through technology.
