Session Type: Symposium
Often, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) leaders are asked, "How did you get there?" In considering this question, are diverse panelists offer insight to the different journeys to DEI administration. Therefore, we present this symposium to chart our various pathways to diversity leadership. The symposium chair will briefly introduce the authors and their respective research methods and conceptual frameworks. The opening five minutes from the chair will frame the panel discussion theoretically. The structure the session includes five subsequent papers which be presented in ten minutes to allow for more audience discussion about the journey to academic diversity leadership. With thirty-five minutes remaining, the discussant will lead a summary, critiquing the papers and facilitating the panel discussion.
