Session Type: Symposium
This symposium brings together a set of scholars deeply concerned about and focused on access broadly and conference access more specifically while also emphasizing the focus on this year’s call for learning and care grounded in community knowledge (Scott et al., 2024). Access is not an afterthought or something special to be asked for. Rather, access is an ongoing, dynamic process and a conference necessity. From myriad perspectives, this symposium centers on why and how AERA (American Educational Research Association) Annual Meetings need to be intentional and expansive access-centered conferences ideologically and materially. In the spirit of remedy and repair towards renewal, feedback and solutions will be discussed to ensure AERA Annual Meetings are truly accessible.
