Artful Inquiry in Qualitative Research: Philosophies and Enactments

Fri, April 25, 1:30 to 3:00pm MDT (1:30 to 3:00pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Terrace Level, Bluebird Ballroom Room 3A

Session Type: Structured Poster Session

Abstract

This structured poster session brings together contributors of two connected special issues that explore how qualitative researchers think about/with/through artful inquiry practices. In opening up (rather than nailing down) artful inquiry, we posit artful inquiry as a philosophical approach, or mode of thinking, that creates possibilities for how scholars do qualitative research. The presenters are 11 qualitative scholars who infuse artful inquiry into their research practices, considering what might come from envisioning artful inquiry as a mode of thinking that inspires how we orient, how we encounter, and how we move, in our inquiry work. Each poster will introduce philosophies and/or enactments of artful inquiry, drawing from a variety of theoretical traditions, methodologies, methods, and artful modalities.
