Session Type: Symposium
This interactive session explores how students from traditionally marginalized and minoritized populations experience a first-year academic success intervention. The descriptive case study showcases the benefits of leveraging faculty and peer coach connections with students to create more equitable access to higher education. Program faculty and peer coaches will employ multiple presentation formats, including student storytelling, Ed-Talks, and a panel discussion to explore their experiences. With an opportunity for audience engagement, attendees will be challenged to interrogate their assumptions about a first-year success program's goals and optimal outcomes.
