Session Type: Symposium
This panel discussion is for practitioners and researchers interested in the twice exceptionality of Black girls. Twice exceptional Black girls are dually marginalized, have nuanced identities, and are deserving of more research to help them be seen and understood. The session’s panelists will briefly discuss their own work in studying twice exceptionality, Black girls with disabilities, giftedness and Black girls, disciplining Black girls, and the identification and assessment of Black girls for giftedness and/or disability. Attendees will then have an opportunity to ask questions of the group for further discussion.
