Session Type: Symposium
This symposium brings together researchers and administrators involved in campus change efforts for equitable teaching and student success. We aim to spark robust discussion about innovative and systemic approaches to fostering change. Using the framework of research-practice partnerships (RPPs), we will provide preliminary results from a new national study of effective change strategies across the postsecondary landscape. We then share four case studies of campus collaboration, discussing methodological approaches, balancing theory with practice, institutionalizing change, and multi-institutional partnerships. These examples, which illustrate both the promise–and pitfalls–of collaboration, will frame a discussion in which we ask about the possibilities afforded through research-practice partnerships, barriers to effective and sustained collaboration, and the stakes of failing to build new partnerships for campus transformation.
