Session Type: Symposium
This symposium unites four research teams evaluating the influence of digital media and curricula on student achievement and career readiness:
Ready to Learn Initiative – Out-of-school media content for Pre-K that introduces future careers and computational thinking.
Future Quest Island, Explorations – A game-based curriculum for Grades 3-5 focused on career awareness, noting differences for students in various socioeconomic settings.
SRVCE – Online civics modules for middle and high school educators to implement as a supplemental or entire curriculum.
Mission US – Web-based role-playing games exploring pivotal moments in US history.
The session will be interactive, with panel presentations followed by a town hall discussion on the value and challenges of digital curricula, addressing equity and engagement in education.
