Session Type: Symposium
Large-scale survey studies, such as NAEP, are instrumental in our collective effort to investigate educational access and outcomes. They provide comprehensive, nationally representative data on student achievement and educational experiences, school and teacher-level contextual information, and high school coursework information. Using the NAEP data, this symposium explores differences in student performance by analyzing score reporting and data storytelling, the relationship between locale and learning environments, and the school- and teacher-level factors associated with student achievement. Additionally, it investigates access to advanced coursework as reflected in NAEP HSTS 2019. The symposium includes discussions on achievement patterns among student subgroups.
