Session Type: Symposium
This symposium examines the outcomes of a three-year transformation initiative between an Educator Preparation Program (EPP) and a TK-12 School District, supported by an educator diversity initiative. Through an innovative community partnership model, this project aimed to diversify the teacher workforce, enhance culturally responsive pedagogy, and create more equitable educational experiences for TK-12 students. Presenters will share key findings related to curriculum redesign, recruitment and retention of diverse teacher candidates, impacts on K-12 student outcomes, and building sustainable partnerships. Implications for policy and practice in teacher preparation will be discussed, with a focus on remedying past inequities and renewing education systems.
