Session Type: Symposium
This symposium explores various factors impacting the experiences of transfer and transfer-intending students in STEM. The papers consider the needs and supports available to students across a range of stages in the process from associate-degree granting institution (ADGI) settings, bridging to bachelor-degree granting institutions (BDGIs), and considering the knowledge and work of faculty and staff advocates. Each paper considers the complexities of the relationship between programming in place to support these students and the relational resources. Collectively, these papers embrace the AERA 2025 theme of Research, Remedy, and Repair: Toward Just Educational Renewal by centering the human experience in the postsecondary discussions of transfer and degree attainment and seeking to serve an underserved population in higher education.
