Session Type: Symposium
This symposium highlights six groups’ interactions through the invisible college lens. Groups include: (1) International Study Association on Teachers and Teaching, (2) Faculty Academy, (3) Portfolio Group, (4) Las Chicas Críticas, (5) teachHOUSTON, and (6) International Editorial Group. Invisible colleges are extra-institutional research groups, not visible (Tarrant et al., 2018) or identifiable (Mulkay et al., 1975). The connecting threads of and between six invisible colleges will be made visible to explore their impact upon members’ professional growth, knowledge, productivity, persistence, and healing and repair.. Attendees will hear invisible college stories, highlighting their impact on gender roles, intimate research, resonances among members, co-constructing knowledge, program improvement, international collaboration, and discovery.
