Session Type: Symposium
This symposium explores how co-constructed, situated dialogue through normative case studies can drive educational transformation for equity. Over the past decade, this approach has gained traction for addressing complex ethical issues in education—those decisions lacking a single correct answer and where various values and needs must be balanced. In two new, internationally-focused case collections—"Civic Contestation in Global Education” and “Educational Equity in a Global Context”— each case study is followed by a transcribed discussion among diverse contributors who each bring a new perspective on the dilemma in context. This session will feature authors and conversation participants discussing their experiences with the conversation format, emphasizing its potential for fostering new knowledge and perspectives in educational ethics.
