Session Type: Symposium
This symposium is designed for (1) those who work in schools as teachers, administrators, counselors, and support personnel; (2) university professors who teach those who plan to or already do work in schools; and (3) researchers who study school culture, sexual abuse of children, school safety, or prevention of abuse. The panel are researchers who have been studying this topic for years. Each paper will be shared ahead of the annual meeting, and the symposia will allow for the discussion of findings in a conversational format to include audience participation. Papers will detail patterns of abuse, prevention effectiveness, and the ways in which school culture has hindered prevention. Audience members will be provided with study purposes and findings.
