Session Type: Roundtable Session
Networks of schools working collaboratively toward shared improvement aims proliferated the education field in recent decades. Despite considerable popularity, little is known about the conditions that support network development and potential impacts on educators and students. Leveraging a unique collection of longitudinal quantitative and qualitative data from 34 Networks for School Improvement (NSIs) funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to reduce inequities in minoritized students’ secondary school success, this session presents five empirical papers that explore critical dimensions of network development and impact. Together the papers have significant scholarly and practical implications related to better understanding how to organize networks to accelerate school improvement in pursuit of more equitable student learning opportunities.
