Session Type: Symposium
Responding to the 2025 AERA call to engage in research, remedy and repair to move towards just educational renewal, this symposium brings together a group of scholars and teacher educators from diverse backgrounds who address the “equity issue” in teacher education (Cochran-Smith, 2023). The symposium contributes to advancing critical approaches to pre-service teacher (PST) education in multilingual contexts through a shared vision of how teacher education programs can prepare PSTs to support educational experiences of students from marginalized communities by developing their critical multilingual language awareness.
