Artificial Intelligence (AI) has rapidly integrated into various facets of modern life, promising efficiency and innovation. However, concerns about AI perpetuating and even exacerbating racism have emerged, especially among underrepresented college students. The biases in AI systems often mirror the prejudices in the data they are trained on, leading to discriminatory outcomes. This raises significant questions about trust and equity. How can students, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds, place their faith in technologies that may inadvertently reinforce existing inequalities? Addressing this issue involves scrutinizing AI development processes, ensuring diverse representation in tech fields, and advocating for transparency and accountability. By doing so, we can work towards a future where AI serves all communities fairly and justly.
