Session Type: Symposium
This symposium explores the application and benefits of estimation thinking in educational leadership research through four comprehensive studies. Each study demonstrates innovative methodologies and practical implications for enhancing research accuracy and interpretability. The first paper investigates Bayesian methods addressing challenges in studying teacher emotion as a mediator of school leadership effects on student achievement. The second paper examines probabilistic reasoning in network analysis within educational leadership. The third paper introduces Bayesian statistical approaches in educational leadership and policy studies, using a case study on teachers' perceptions of school leadership and job satisfaction. The fourth paper analyzes the influence of expectations and belonging on science identity growth, utilizing estimation thinking with HSLS:09 data.
