Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
How is research on diversity, equity, and inclusion conducted in different countries? In the US, race and ethnicity are typically the most frequently researched topics. But what about in other countries? With an increasing emphasis on race and ethnicity, US-based scholars have also begun diversifying their methodological approaches (e.g., QuantCrit). But what types of methodological approaches are used by scholars around the globe, including Indigenous scholars? Finally, many countries’ policies have created a culture in which data on race and ethnicity are not collected. How have international scholars been able to address this issue? This invited session features four scholars around the globe who address these issues and showcase approaches to educational research that explore diversity, equity, and inclusion.
