Session Type: Paper Session
This paper session explores the dynamic role of youth and adolescent engagement in educational and community activism. Presenters will highlight innovative programs and research that examine how youth empowerment, critical consciousness, and activism are fostered through informal learning environments. From ethnographic studies of youth participation in civic and educational reform to community-based STEM initiatives, the session will showcase how these programs encourage youth to challenge power structures, develop their voices, and contribute to social change. Attendees will engage in discussions around the impact of these approaches on youth identity, critical thinking, and broader educational contexts.
