Session Type: Roundtable Session
In this roundtable session, scholars from across the United States share research on two of the most pressing issues facing educational policymakers and practitioners: teacher working conditions and retention. The papers in this session offer tools for understanding the complex nature of teacher work, as well as the myriad factors informing their decisions to stay in or leave the classroom. This roundtable session will offer the opportunity for both presenters and attendees to bring these issues into dialogue, fostering a rich conversation on how to both understand and defend the future of the teaching profession in the United States.
