Preparing for the Future: An Academic and Industry Job Market Workshop

Abstract

The academic and industry job market can be stressful and challenging to navigate. Additionally, the job market is often riddled unwritten rules about identifying and securing different types of jobs available to those on the market. The purpose of this session is to expose the hidden curriculum when navigating the academic and industry job market. To do so, we have invited scholars who hold various positions from research, teaching, post-doc, and industry focused positions. These scholars, in a panelist format, will address prominent questions and share their experiences and knowledge of the job market. Then, we will break out into interactive, position-specific workshop groups. These workshop groups will have opportunities to tap the wisdom of our invited scholars.
