Session Type: Roundtable Session
This roundtable will be a lively discussion to explore innovative strategies, as well as important complexities, associated with STEM inclusivity and success among Black and Latinx college students. Research conducted across various colleges will place an emphasis on creating empowering campus communities that support students’ STEM activities and career aspirations through new teaching paradigms, capacity building to broaden STEM participation, and the promotion of interpersonal relations for an increased sense of belonging among other critical factors. Important recommendations will be made for college faculty and staff concerned with retaining and graduating Black and Latinx STEM students.
