Abstract

Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have long been pillars of Black academic and social advancement. This business meeting explores HBCUs' pivotal role in transforming education, advocating for justice, and fostering community-responsive pedagogy. As hubs of resilience and innovation, HBCUs provide spaces where educational practices are reimagined to address racial and economic inequities in learning. This meeting highlights recent initiatives and research from HBCU faculty, staff, and alumni, showcasing contributions to policy development, leadership diversification, and culturally relevant curricula. Prominent HBCU leaders and scholars will share insights into HBCUs as centers for social justice-oriented education reflecting their commitment to empowering Black communities and advancing educational equity.
