Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
In this Fireside Chat, we will explore how engaging quantitative and qualitative research methodologies can effectively advocate for educational reparations. The session will examine how critical quantitative analysis, alongside the lived experiences captured through qualitative research, can be utilized to calculate and justify reparations for communities harmed by historical educational inequities. By reflecting on various research efforts that examine the impacts of learning losses, we will discuss how these methodologies can inform policies aimed at addressing and repairing the systemic harm inflicted on marginalized communities. This conversation aligns with the broader conference theme of remedy and repair, highlighting the essential role of interdisciplinary research in advancing educational justice and democratic renewal.
