Session Type: Invited Speaker Session

Abstract

This Fireside Chat invites graduate students and interested scholars to join a discussion on queering qualitative research and pushing the boundaries of traditional methodologies in the pursuit of innovative, transformative scholarship. Led by Dr. Stephanie Anne Shelton, the session will explore how feminist and queer theories can be integrated into educational research, offering fresh perspectives that challenge and expand conventional approaches. Participants can engage in dialogue, ask questions, and share experiences on navigating critical research in academic spaces that may not fully embrace these perspectives. The conversation will also highlight practical strategies for empowering graduate students to innovate in their work, fostering an environment where emerging scholars can exchange ideas and gain valuable insights for advancing their research.
